My name is
Kim Johnson (she/her).
I'm a licensed clinical social worker with over 15 years of experience in counseling and teaching undergraduate and graduate social work students.
I've worked with both adults and children who have experienced trauma, abuse, depression, anxiety, LGBTQIA+ issues and concerns, family conflict, domestic violence, and substance use disorders.
My passion is empowering individuals to find their paths and happiness so they can move forward!

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with nearly 40 years of experience in providing mental health services, supervising social workers, and educating undergraduate and graduate social work students.
I have experience working with adults and adolescents experiencing a number of concerns, including anxiety and depression, childhood trauma, parenting challenges, family stressors, and long-term substance abuse recovery.
As a therapist, my particular passion lies in supporting LGBTQIA+ individuals and their families, creating a space where identity, relationships, and healing can unfold with authenticity and care

Our Qualifications
We've been in practice for over 50 combined years. Kim and Lucy both received their clinical Master of Social Work degrees from Michigan State University, with Lucy also receiving a PhD from Michigan State University. Both Kim and Lucy are verified by Psychology Today.
Kim is certified in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy by Evergreen Certifications, and certified in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) by the EMDRIA, which are both certificate-required techniques to heal from emotional distress.
Lucy is certified by the National Association of Social Workers (NASW) in Beyond Affirming Care, which helps transgender and gender non-conforming clients to survive and thrive.
